Back to work...

Tonight I go back to work for the first time in 8 weeks. Feels crazy. And it sounds weird to say but I am actually refreshed. The last week+ some real positive things have been transpiring in our home among the girls as well as just feeling like we're almost at a "new normal".

In addition to that, I have been spending more time reflecting, listening, and praying. I feel re-energized and re-inspired for the reasons I'm here. Although it will be very hard to be away at nights from the family, I know it will be good for Ayantu to have to learn to depend on Daddy for lots of things that she relys on only for me right now. Brian and I have struggled the last 2.5 years during the adoption process finding time for "us" as well. We are going to need to be very intentional about making a date night once a week...even if it's on the couch chatting at 11pm when I get home!

On another note...Sahara told me this morning that she wants to begin praying about adopting Ayantu's best friend in Ethiopia who is still at the orphanage waiting for a mommy and daddy. When she shared that, it was a statement that came out of no where, so I know that she had really thought about it. Wow. How amazing to have her share her heart like that despite having such a hard transition in the beginning of becoming a big sister! I didn't know how to respond except to just say that Mommy and Daddy would pray along with her about it!
