Flower Girl

One week ago today, Sahara was the Flower Girl in our friends wedding. It was a priceless day as I tried to get my little one ready to be beautiful. The weather was awful, but somehow everything turned out. We made it to the church on time for pictures at 3:00pm. Sahara shone brightly as the camera snapped her picture and tried to capture the beauty of only something the Bride, Groom and God can fully understand.

Leading up to the actual day, Sahara had practiced over and over throwing "air petals" from a basket to the floor. Actually, we started out with Little People and then graduated to "air petals". When it came time for her to walk down the aisle she looked so beautiful and confident. She held her head high and slowly dropped the petals to the left and right. And then she stopped! Less than half way down the aisle, she turned her head back towards the Mistress of Ceremony and shouted with a frown on her face "I'm out of petals"! Poor thing. We got her going again and she automatically reverted to throwing her "air petals".

I hope one day, our newest family member will have the honor of doing the same. Sahara will be a great teacher!
