Progress Report
The last several weeks since Christams have been a blur. I've had a lot of friends ask what our status is on the adoption and simply haven't had time to sit down and update. This is going to be a quick top ten of what's going on in our world:
1. Still Waiting at #3 on the waiting family list.
2. Attending a mandatory meeting at our adoptiong agency tomorrow [more on that later].
3. Thinking about our unknown child more and more as we anxiously await a referral.
4. Have a potential name picked out!
5. Sahara is asking very mature and amazing questions about her soon to be baby sister like "Mama, when my baby sister grows up will we get to keep her?" Yeah, I still choke up with that one.
6. Enjoyed a lovely Ethiopian meal last week catching up with some childhood neighbor friends whom are also adopting a little girl from Ethiopia using the same agency!
7. Praising God immensely as after 14 months of saving we are now fully funded for the expenses of the adoption process.
8. Beginning to collect gifts to bring for the orphanage children and their caretakers.
9. Putting together a photo album and creating a T-Shirt with our family photo on it to send to our daughter when we find out who she is.
10. Tearing up when we think back at all of the ways God has provided, protected, and propelled us forward on this journey!

Thank you for this--it was such an encouraging post! I'm attending the 8:30pm meeting tomorrow...nervous as I'm afaid fees will skyrocket, but know God will provide. I'm amazed and proud that you have all the $$ in order for finish the process. That is HUGE and our goal as well, but we're not quite there yet. The longer we wait the more $ we can save, but it's hard to wait...so it's a terse balance.
We were # 7 last time we got updated on "the list". Wow, that could mean a phone call in your very near future!
What a great report! We're waiting right with you for a little girl from Ethiopia, and I'm always encouraged when I read your blog. (I often think about your "36,500" post, looking forward to loving our little one someday!) Praise God for these 10 evidences of progress towards the little one who will join your family!
