JCrew and Liya Kebede
A friend of mine sent me a head's up about this today--JCrew is partnering with an International Goodwill Ambassador to offer a limited selection of her children's line that is handmade in Ethiopia from natural cotton. This woman is amazing! Liya Kebede is an Ethiopian born Mom and Goodwill Ambassador for the World Health Organization for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health. She is dedicated to raising awareness and fighting to improve the health of mothers and children in developing countries.
"LemLem", Liya's clothing line, was started in 2007 as a way to inspire economic independence in Ethiopia and to preserve the art of weaving. LemLem in Amharic means "to bloom". You can check out her line at http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Navigation/Lemlem.jsp
These are the stories that should be on the cover of People!
