The last two days leading up to today have been difficult, strange, and frustrating. I just didn't have a good sense about the I 171H document getting approved, nonetheless on time. We needed that document to be approved and then wire cabled to Ethiopia at least one week before our Embassy Appointment on January 14th. I could tell that my Spirit wasn't trusting and I was losing patience with little things around the house.
Today, late morning, I received an email from the Immigration Office processing our document. They said they needed more information on the International Student staying with usbefore they would continue to process our case. I was very frustrated and felt like they should have everything they would need. But at least it was easy. All I had to do was efile a copy of Nadine's passport onto the Immigration Office. I didn't want to waste any time getting this done so I zipped off to Kinko's, had them copy her passport and then efile a copy to my email address. When I got home, the efile was there. Just before I forwarded it onto the Immigration Office I got an email from Jenny Ungrey at Congressman Ehler's office. She told me if I forwarded the info onto her she would assure it would get to the Liason that was helping on our case. So...I forwarded it on to Jenny.
Within about an hour I got an additional email from Jenny with the subject line of ":)". As soon as I saw that smiley face I started screaming. I knew we had gotten approved. I opened up her email and she had informed me that the passport info. was enough for them to proceed with our case and they ended up approving our document!
I can't tell you the peace and relief that this has brought to us. To now know that all of the details prior to our Embassy Appointment have been affirmed and blessed by God once again brought me to tears. Now, Brian and I can focus on packing and preparing a few fun treats for Sahara to open at home while Mommy and Daddy are away getting her baby sister.
